Initially São Martinho do Porto was a fishing village visited in the late 19th century by nobles and bourgeoisie as a beach resort. Surrounded by multiple points of interest starting with the beautiful bay with the shape of a shell, the lovely view of Berlenga Island, the Alcobaca Monastery, the fishing village of Nazare, the city of Caldas da Rainha and it’s hot springs thermae, Peniche city and the famous Baleal Beach. S. Martinho do Porto Bay is decorated with its typical striped cloth tents and the typical boats in the bay. Amazing pastries, families and lots of children are one of the village characteristics.
